2009 volunteers enjoy a varied range of recreation trips
From January to April 2009 Earthwise volunteers enjoyed a wide range of recreation trips.
Our schedule gives us 1-2 day trips each week and a week-long "epic" every sixth week.
in 2009 trips included:
- great lake kayaking & camping
- tongariro national park and ascent to the summit of Ruapehu - we were snowed on in the middle of summer (26th february!)
- learning to surf
- seakayaking on the coromandel
- indoor rockclimbing
- whitewater rafting
- greenstone carving
- road trips with visits to crafts, hotpools and other organic farms
… and many forest walks & beach days
